First of all, some of June's happenings (because I didn't really post much during that month). My family came up for a visit and we had a great time. A few highlights from their visit were our trip to the coast where we found two starfish (which aparently were not dead yet and smelled really gross out on our porch for the rest of their stay), our adventure in downtown Seattle (we walked many miles before figuring out there is a light rail that goes from the mall to the space needle), and Mt. Saint Hellen's which, as you will see below was shrouded in clouds during our visit there. We had lots of laughs and they had fun traveling back down the coast of Oregon and California to get home. This is a beautiful country we live in. Thanks for the visit Mom, Dad and Aubrey!
A few weeks after their visit I was the camp cook for our Stake Young Women's high adventure activity. I got to ride a ferry for the first time, and enjoy more beauties of this area. Here's a picture of the island where we camped and where the girls and some of the leaders participated in a sprint triathlon.
Dan and I have both had our hair cut recently. Suddenly blogger is being dumb and I can't get the before picture on, but this is the after for Dan and mine looks pretty much the same as it has for a while but two inches shorter. Every time I'm done cutting Dan's hair I give a kiss and say, "There's my handsome boy." So now you can all enjoy the view too.
We had a nice celebration for the Fourth of July. We went to a breakfast with our church and joined one of the fabulous families from our ward for a great BBQ and fireworks in the front yard. I made this fruit pizza, it is square because I don't have a round pizza pan even though it might look like I'm just really creative and did it on purpose (:-).

The rest of this month I am looking forward to a visit from my super good friend and also a trip to UT for a family reunion. this is a picture of the coffee table I bought on CL for $10 which needs to be refinished (not happening this month, but maybe next) and some things I'm painting in an effort to update them, I'll post finished pictures as soon as the get done (don't hold your breath).

And, last, but not least, my small pots full of happiness on my porch. My petunias are still alive, though looking rather long and weedy for reasons unknown to me, the lovely gerbera daisies and our flourishing herb garden (I've cut some of it recently, so it might look a little sparse for a little while).

That's all for now, more updates to follow!
Fun stuff! Glad we lived through our near death on Sunday! :)
