This last one is quite modern and I'm liking the classic more, but it's just got such fun ideas (like the monkey for example). So I'm hanging on to it for the time being.
I've also picked out a few different fabric swatches and groupings I thought would work well. (fyi if you shop on fabric.com they have a "design wall" feature where you can play around with fabric swatches, that's what I used and it's really fun).

hey chelsea! I wish I was there to help you sew some fun things! Of course, I know that you know how to do it yourself, but it would be a fun project! I have sewn both of my kids bumpers and they are VERY simple. I bet you could even get a monkey pattern, or make one! I love the colors that you have chosen! I must say that my favorite set of fabrics that you picked out is #4. BEcause the patterns are posh and playful at the same time. I also like bed set #4, if it was me, I would add extra green in it. I love this kind of stuff, so email or call if you want/need ideas of how to make it or anything. Miss you guys!
ReplyDeleteOkay, my favorite setup is the first one. I LOVE that one! And I'd have to agree that swatch combo #4 is the best :) I just finished the bumper. You'll have to come by and see it sometime!
ReplyDeleteNot knowing exactly what the rest of the room looks like, I would, using your 3 colors, pick a dominant one in each "area". So if baby's area will be black with a little green and cream, make the craft area predominantly green with cream and black. It will add continuity, but it will also help designate separate places within the room. I would wait to choose fabrics until you know what you are having, so you can add feminine or masculine touches; flounces versus pleats...you know. Just my opinion. Have fun!

I'm thinking that I'm just going to do the sheet, bumper, and skirt really basic so it can go either way and then do a blanket and some accents later to match once I know what we're having, then those things can be more gender specific. And BTW Kristen, the rest of the room is a DISASTER ZONE right now or I might have included pictures of that for more ideas. I definitely like the idea of using the colors to define but blend the space. Keep 'em coming friends!

ReplyDeleteI would say since you are the craftiest (is that a word) person I know you are the best judge on the is one. But if you want my most humble opinion I do like the bedroom set up #1. I also like your idea about going basic and then adding accents later, that way for next one you can mix it up. Oh, by the way, I did update our blog jensenfam05.blogspot.com). I like #4 the best two. That fabric is awesome!! Are you guys going to find out what your having? or is it a surprise? Or have I just not been paying enough attention and you have already mentioned it somewhere.
