Growing Things

I've been trying to grow a few little things with the little sunshine we get on our porch. The porch faces Northwest, basically meaning that the only sun we get is on the few sunny days for about three hours in the evenings. However, the last few days have been bright and sunny and my little plants have enjoyed it.

This is the herb garden...

...the basil was supposed to sprout first, but it ended up being last in line. They're hard to see, but there are some toward the top and one in the middle...

...the chives have been my second best growers...

...Cilantro takes the championship. The've even gotten past the little sprout stage and a little cilantro looking leaf has emerged from each of them, cute!...

...The parsley is doing well and is ready to be thinned...

...rosemary is a little shy, there are only three little ones, see if you can find them!

These are my mother's day petunias. I need to get a bigger pot for them, but for now they seem to be happy.

Here's my biggest challenge. My little african violet used to have more flowers and leaves, but it came down with a case of rot (too much water) and I had to intervene. I've been trying to dry it out and give it a chance to recoup. Things are looking up after a couple of days of sitting on a paper towel. Hang in there little plant! (I'm still learning)

  3. My cilantro is struggling the most! And that's the herb I use the most! We'll see how long everything lasts. Usually my stuff dies. As for July, I'll be back on the 17th (I'll be in Tahoe until then), and after that I'm game!
