Spring Break

Marci came to visit us for her spring break last month.  We got to hang out with her for a WHOLE WEEK!  It was awesome.  James loves his Aunt Marci very much.  We had a pretty laid back week, and it rained A LOT, but we did manage to do a few fun things.  So, without furthur adeau I give you...FANTASTIC CAVERNS!

I don't claim to be good at geography on any level.  In fact, besides the states I've lived in, I probably couldn't correctly label very many states east of the rockies.  So to find out that Missouri is laced with a multitude of underground caverns was a surprise to me.  Not wanting to miss out on this nifty little bit of geology we set out to visit the nearest one to us, which also happens to be the ONLY drive through cavern (convenient for children, pregnant, and elderly which mostly made up our tour group).

James was a little unsure of the situation at first, but he soon warmed up to it and decided that all the formations were dragons and dinosaurs and commenced to roar at them during much of our ride.  It was beautiful, another reminder of how wonderous this world is that we have been given by our loving Father in heaven.

After our fun ride through the cavern we went to lunch at Lambert's Cafe.  OH MY YUMMY!  This place if famous for it's FLYING ROLLS.  Yes, they actually chuck them across the room at you.  You have to hold your hand up when the guy with the cart comes out if you want one, and let me just say that he has impeccable aim.  Thanks to Marci, we didn't miss a single throw (between us we ate seven, maybe eight).   It was truly a great Missouri experience!

Other than that we spent most of our time at home or around our little town.  There was much reading (mostly on the part of Marci) and lightsaber fighting.  We are so grateful to have Marci close by and to have had such a wonderful week together!
