Not so little

Our little James is growing up so fast! He has more personality than his little body can contain sometimes and he is still as friendly as ever. He has reached his 18 month milestone, the highlight of which for us as the parents was his going to nursery at church. James has been doing awesome! He doesn't even need me to walk him there (although I do). He could find his way to that corner of the building all on his own, and he wouldn't care if I was there or not to drop him off! We're so proud of him for being a good nursery boy.

He's a pretty good/bad couch potato too (good for mommy being able to get ready, bad for wanting to watch TV all day long). Among his favorite things to watch are Cars, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Chuggington, Jungle Junction...anybody notice a trend yet? Yeah, he likes transportation of all sorts. His latest thing is trying to find airplanes when we hear there outside. On the upside, he's taken a renewed interest in books and will spend a long time looking through them instead of begging to watch his shows.

James is talking a lot these days and has a new word or two almost every day it seems. He says hat, basketball, pizza, ice, mom, dad, ball/book/bird/boat/bear (they all sound the same), fish, cow, plane, teeth, eye, nose, mouth, belly button, and a few more I can't think of right now. He's even got a few he says in Spanish, like agua, leche, and lengua.

James loves to play with Daddy. They wrestle, play with balls, drive cars, and even build blanket forts (well, Dad builds and James pulls down, but they have a great time anyway).
Lately James has been making a loud "Ah!" after he takes a drink. It makes me smile!

James is really active, such a wiggle bug! Some of my favorite things he does right now are his poses (I'll try and get some good pictures or videos to post). He also likes to run in circles right now, so funny!
What he will or rather, will NOT eat is a constant battle but it's getting better. Sometimes for snacks he gets a sampler tray (muffin tin) with all kinds of different things in it. Or when mom's feeling really adventurous we bring the picnic table in from the porch and eat lunch there. Thankfully my moments of tears and frustration have not gone completely unrewarded. Last night he finally took a bite of broccoli and DIDN'T SPIT IT OUT! We just might master this food thing after all. That's our boy, and we wouldn't have him any other way!
